South America Robotics Welding Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide technical support and engineering expertise for South America projects (remotely).
• Program, configure, and troubleshoot robotic welding arms (MIG,TIG, Laser).
• Integrate robotics systems with PLC controllers, Python scripts, and SDK-based applications.
• Collaborate with customers, distributors, and Montreal Robot’s South America sales team to design and deploy custom welding automation solutions.
• Conduct system testing, validation, and optimization to ensure welding performance and safety standards.• Provide remote and on-site (occasional travel) technical training, support, and troubleshooting.
• Prepare technical documentation including wiring diagrams, programming manuals, and process validation reports.
• Work closely with the R&D and software teams to continuously improve welding cell solutions.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or related field.

Native Portuguese speaker with fluency in Spanish (both required); English & French proficiency a plus.

3+ years of hands-on experience with industrial or collaborative robotic arms.

Solid knowledge of welding technologies: MIG, TIG, and Laser welding.

Strong skills in PLC programming, Python, and SDK integration.

Proven ability to troubleshoot both hardware and software in robotic automation systems.

Excellent communication skills to bridge engineering and customer-facing interactions.

Willingness to travel occasionally within North and South America.
Qualifications

5+ years of experience in welding.

Strong hands-on knowledge of MIG, TIG, Laser Welding, and Plasma Cutting technologies.

Proficiency with robotic programming (e.g., ABB, FANUC, UR, or similar platforms).

Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

Fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish (written and spoken).

Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
Preferred Skills

Familiarity with programming & coding (e.g., Python, C++, RoboDK).

Welding certification (e.g., CWI, CWE) is a plus.

Experience working in automotive, aerospace, or heavy machinery industries.
